Nowadays it's an ornithological reserve; a refuge area for the little hawks of Eleanora, a species in danger of extinction and the only inhabitants of the zone. Entrance to the island is prohibited, as it is a nature reserve. However, if you want to see these majestic hawks in flight, you can often see them from Essaouirs beach. |
