Here you have all the information you need about our precious city, located on the Atlantic coast of the African continent. Essaouira (pronounced: esauera) has almost a thousand nicknames: "the Pearl of the Atlantic", "the sleeping beauty” etc...they can all be traced back to the beautiful Arab word “Souirah”. The city maintains an enchantment and authenticity; it's like a land untouched by time.
This is where the Mediterranean finishes; the last fortification surrounded by Atlantic borders; where the white houses seem sisters to those in the “white towns” of Andalucia.
Essaouira is an essential stopping point for any trip to Morocco. Adventurers and explorers are often fascinated by the hospitality and friendliness of the locals. These people have lived for centuries at the crossroads of cultures, civilizations and religions.
The city dates back to Phoenician times. Many civilizations have left their tracks here: the Romans, Carthaginians, Berbers, Portuguese and the French.
We can show you all the attractions, and guide you to the best events and leisure activities in Essaouira. We can also help you find the perfect accommodation, whether it's a hotel, inn, apartment, holiday house or a villa. You'll also find a wide range of property for sale on our site.
The bay of Essaouira is a paradise for wind and water sports lovers. The waves surrounding the islands of Mogador are constantly surrounded strong trade winds from the Northwest.
