Golf in Essaouira, Morocco.

Golf is a very popular sport in Morocco, with both the middle and upper classes. Morocco’s former king was a big fan of golf and promoted many international matches here.

King Mohammed VI is very involved in the development of the golf courses in Morocco. He has given his name to several tournaments and continues to be an avid fan and enthusiatic manager of the sport in this country. In the Essaouira city itself, there's no golf course. The nearest courses are in Agadir or Meknés.
